Past Projects - Private Housing
Plantation Road, Leighton Buzzard - 24 houses
The site was a former garage and vehicle storage yard straddling the town boundary and the Ouzel Valley Linear Park. As part of the site approval the land outside the town was transferred to the Town Council, as an extension of the park.
The site consisted of 24 housing ranging from two bedroom terraces, through 3 bed semi detached and detached houses to large 4 and 5 bed houses sitting in plots overlooking the Ouzel Valley.
Downs Barn, Milton Keynes - 15 4 bed detached houses
This site was developed with 15 detached houses on land formerly owned by the CNT. The development of the site was particularly sensitive to local opinion as it was at the edge of a previously developed grid square which has a strong orthogonal grain; a characteristic of the area. The land had also been used for some time as open space and its development provoked much opposition in the area.
The design solution adopted for the site was selected to ensure that the new housing fitted seamlessly into the existing urban fabric, working with the same grain of development. This also allowed for the visual and physical linkages between the new and old housing areas to be extended into the site, to reinforce the integration of the overall area.
