Past Projects - Social Housing

Newmarket - 10 2, 3 and 4 bedrooms houses & 8 1 and 2 bedroom flats
This was a development was part of a 'Design and Build' project for Bedfordshire Pilgrims Housing Association consisting of ten houses of 2, 3 and 4 bedrooms and eight 1 and 2 bedroom flats.
The development formed the last section of a major redevelopment area of Newmarket based around the old railway sidings and the site was sandwiched between the new site access and the railway line, forming its rear boundary.
As well as having to deal with high levels of site contamination caused by the previous uses, the site also had to be re-contoured to allow the new housing to be built on the slopes and the site to be accessed by vehicles.

Wolverton, Milton Keynes - 11 terraced bungalows and 6 1 bed flats
The site was part of the Milton Keynes College on the edge of Wolverton, now a suburb of Milton Keynes. As a brownfield site in a sustainable location it was developed to meet the aspirations of PPG 3.
The accommodation needs of the Social Landlord was for accommodation for the elderly, some units for wheelchair users and a separate block of flats for young adults with learning difficulties
All accommodation other than the flats were developed as bungalows around a central courtyard with parking grouped at its edges and these bungalows each contain 2 bedrooms opening on to small private patio gardens to the rear.
All properties were planned to fully comply with The HBF standards and the Housing Corporations "Scheme Development Standards". Moreover the 2 bungalows for wheelchair users also met the standards set out in Wheelchair Housing Design Guide.
